Split My Pants with the Win in the eighth at Woodbine

Split My Pants, with Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson aboard makes a stretch run on the outside to get up in time for the win with Guy Caballero finishing third on the rail in the 1-1/8 mile $39,800 Optional Claiming 8th race at Woodbine.

This is the first win in eight starts this season for 4 year old gelding Split My Pants bred by Doug Anderson and Rita Eskudt and owned in partnership with Peter Mosakos, Kingfield Racing Stable and Carnegie Hill Stable.

It was the third lifetime win for Split My Pants who is by Victor’s Cry out of the Anderson/Eskudt mare Hot Pants who was also a winner trained by Catherine Day Phillips.

Stablemate Guy Caballero, ridden by Rafael Hernandez, owned and bred by Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry was bogged down on the rail in the stretch. Aching for running room the 4 year-old gelding managed to squeeze up for third by a head.

A winner at age 2 and 3, Guy Caballero has had a second and three thirds in his five starts this season. The homebred by Quality Road out of the Fitzhenry’s mare Dixie Chicken is a half brother to the Fitzhenry’s 2018 Woodbine Oaks winner Dixie Moon.

Guy Caballero was claimed out of the race for $40,000.
