Heavily favoured to win, Rainbows Ahead did not disappoint with a front running win in Race 5 at Woodbine, her first start in 2017.
Rainbows Ahead set the pace early and finished strong in the 6 1/2 furlong $20,000 Claiming race on the Tapeta with jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva aboard.
The 4 year-old filly provided the first win of the season for trainer Catherine Day Phillips and owner Kingview Farms and was claimed out of the race by trainer Nick Gonzalez for new owners Michael Coll and Martha Gonzalez.
