Coming off a maiden breaking win October 1, 2020, Barkin didn’t miss a stride in her first start of 2021 winning the sixth race Allowance today at Woodbine for trainer Catherine Day Phillips.
Bred and owned by Willow Pond Stable, the now 4 year old New York-bred, Animal Kingdom filly settled to race close behind the field for most of the 1-1/16 furlong route on the Tapeta.
Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson asked for run on the final turn and Barkin dug in to easily catch the front runners and drove home to win by 2 lengths at the wire.
This was the second win to add to two seconds and a third in five career starts for Barkin at Woodbine.
