May 13, 2023, was a day to remember for trainer Catherine Day Phillips and her team as Rapid Test, a three-year-old gelding, broke maiden by a head in his first career in a five-and-a-half furlong maiden optional claiming race at Woodbine.
Accomplished jockey Kazushi Kimura sent Rapid Test to the lead. Despite being temporarily overtaken, Rapid Test fought gamely to retake the lead just a sixteenth of a mile from the wire, winning by a stubborn nose.
Rapid Test is owned by Kingfield Racing Stable, Ltd., Braconcrest Inc., and Apricot Valley Thoroughbreds and bred in Ontario by Joey Gee Thoroughbreds by sire Souper Speedy, and dam Arch Tigress.
