U S Navy Cross Makes Big Move to Win

U S Navy Cross made a big move down the stretch to catch the leaders and win by 3/4 lengths for trainer Catherine Day Phillips in today’s 6th race at Woodbine.

Jockey Shaun Bridgmohan had U S Navy Cross tucked in on the rail mid-pack for the majority of the 1-1/16 mile race.  Angled to the outside on the turn for home, U S Navy Cross, kicked into another gear to win his first race of the season for owners BAM Racing LLC (Brant & Manifold).

The 6 year-old horse by Curlin – Honour Bestowed, by Honour Grades was bred in Kentucky by John W Phillips, Phillips Racing Partnership, Hank Snowden and Lynn Snowden.

U S Navy Cross was coming off of a close second place finish in his last start on October 2 and was claimed out of today’s race for $40,000.
