Sister Seagull Flies Home for the Win

Sister Seagull, was the determined winner of the ninth race, a 1-1/16 mile Maiden Special Weight worth $101,300 today at Woodbine for trainer Catherine Day Phillips and owner / breeders Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry.

In her second start of her three-year-old season, Sister Seagull broke last out of post position two and made her way to the outside stalking the early pace near the back of the pack.

Jockey Antonio Gallardo asked the filly on the turn and once straight in the stretch she kicked into another gear to soar past the front running duo to cross the wire 2-3/4 lengths in front.

A daughter of Hard Spun-Sweet Kitten, by Kitten’s Joy, Sister Seagull is Ontario bred and has one win and a third in her five career starts.
