After a solid second place finish in the $800,000 Ricoh Woodbine Mile, the Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry bred and owned, Mr. Havercamp, made the most of the extra distance winning the $175,000 G2 Autumn Stakes by 1-1/4 lengths as the race favourite.
Trained by Catherine Day Phillips this is the 4 year old Court Vision gelding’s second Grade 2 Stakes win this year and his seventh win in 11 starts lifetime with earnings of more than $589,000.
Ridden to victory by Jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva, Mr. Havercamp made his move early on the final turn after stalking the front runners for three quarters of the race to finish in a time of 1:42.36, just shy of the race record of 1:42.16.
